Hiatus?

So, school has put me wayyyyy behind on maintaining this page. It's gotta seem like I don't even post here or check my watch list anymore. And in a way, that's not entirely wrong, I suppose. There's a distinct lack of community here in regards to writing, and that keeps me away a lot.

Buuuuuut then I remember, communities are made of people. And I am a people! So quick update on my life, and then I'll get back to actual content.

Almost 6 months(?! Already?) ago, I came out to family as a transwoman. mechanicalMelancholy had been the only one who had known until then, but finally, I managed to tell my sister, mom, and eventually, Facebook. Support has been overwhelming, and I am far more comfortable now than I had ever thought I would be. Thank you, everyone.

Just over 5 months ago, mechanicalMelancholy and I started dating. The first thing we noticed was that very little changed in our perceptions of eachother. I guess when two people have been acting the way we do to eachother for as long as we have, it's hard to draw an exact line on where "Dating" behaviour starts XD It's been a lovely five months, though. I love you!

Just under 4 months ago, my portfolio got me into the Creative Writing Fiction course on campus, which has been an absolute blast. I've improved my writing tremendously since I started, and I feel like I can do something real with my work now.

10 weeks ago, I began Gender Journeys, a program intended to help transfolk understand their identities, sharing the experience of self-discovery with others at all stages of transition. It's been a wonderful experience, and I've grown far more comfortable through it.

1 week ago, I submitted my final project to Creative Writing Fiction, which consisted of two pieces that I was deeply proud of. Hopefully, once I get them back with criticism, they will find their way up here!

And that's the story! So, I have not taken a break from writing. However, much of my writing has been for the sake of school, which has occupied a lot of the time that I would spend reformatting it and putting it here. My last finals are next week Thursday though, so during the break, I hope to get some of my work down here, to repopulate this page with useful content.
